    astrology overview for december

Post  dysfunctionalmystic on Tue Nov 23, 2010 1:22 pm

This month begins with Mercury shifting into Capricorn on the 1st, we need to make sure all affairs are in order before the 10th as Mercury turns retrograde until the 30th, during the retrograde phase we have an increased likelihood of disruption to travel plans, communication devices can go on the blink, messages get distorted and documents get mislaid. If you have any important business dealings during this time or travel plans you should double check all details just to make sure nothing has been overlooked. Mercury in Capricorn is concerned with practical matters and gives a good level of concentration, it tends to be conservative in its outlook and can lack imagination yet we all need to get real from time to time. Mercury stays in Capricorn until the 18th when it slips back into Sagittarius until the middle of January.

We have the new Moon on the 5th in Sagittarius, the new Moon itself is supported by Saturn in the form of a sextile so we'll have to put in a little effort to get the best out of the month ahead, the only other aspect is a quintile to Neptune which implies a unique and creative solution to emotional dilemmas. Mars is highly active in the chart for the new Moon and aspects everything except the Sun and Moon, I'm seeing this as life being very hectic with lots of coming and going but then it is December and the lead up to Christmas, Mars is hurtling towards the north node, Mercury, Pluto stellium and with Mercury and Pluto being tightly conjunct at 4 degrees Capricorn we could have some interesting revelations on both a public and personal level, the dates to watch are the 13th-16th.

Mars enters Capricorn on the 7th and all outer action will become more focused and committed. Mars here speaks of a need to use all energy wisely and deliberately, persistence will pay off. There is a need to monitor communication around the 13/16th as it is highly possible to be drawn into mind games and manipulative behaviour, the aim seems to be control and whilst Capricorn is the sign that honours tradition and a good work ethic it can also go to extremes in clinging to the dead wood, change is a necessary component of growth and Mars will be asking that we give energy and thought to the structures that need repair work. Anything that is not useful will be tested to the max now and we are wasting life force by blocking transformation.

The full Moon occurs on the 21st and we have an eclipse on a critical degree, the Sabian symbols are "bathing beauties" for the Moon and "the pope" for the Sun.
The messages here are that we need to make sure that we are not judging on superficial values and that we take a stand when it is ethically important to do so. There are major indications here of something massively symbolic taking place on a metaphysical plane for everyone. My inner woowoo self tells me that this is the day we have to choose which side we are fighting for, Venus is back at 13 degrees retrograde which is the place she was when she began her retrograde phase back in October and it was also the point of the new Moon in November. If I didn't know any better I'd say we have got a particularly interesting period in front of us and whilst I generally stay away from the "ascended" masters and their never ending promises of utopia I think we are looking at one of the most spiritually significant dates of the year. Mercury may give a hint on the 18th as to what it's all about and then again on the 13th January. The only planet that does not aspect the Sun and Moon is Mars which may imply that the messages coming through show us what needs to be done but we may have to wait until we can actually act on beliefs and feelings. Mars is only 11 degrees away from the Sun which sits just outside of what I'd consider acceptable for a conjunction so it's influence may be weak but still felt. This eclipse takes place only hours before the solstice and this date stands out far more than the 21.12.2012, did they get some calculations wrong?

The chart I've drawn for the UK has the ascendant at 29 degrees Sagittarius making this astro date a power packed one, the Sun is right on the ascendant with the Moon on the descendant, it is the archetypal stand off between the soul and the body, the Moon in Gemini wants to talk about what it feels and the Sun is seeking a higher meaning with Mercury tagging along behind and opposing the Moon's "inferior" intellect. Mars at 10 degrees Capricorn is significant as many countries have Suns at this degree due to the fact so many places that used to be a part of UK rule have been handed back on the 1st of January and on this day the Sun is at 10 degrees Capricorn. So any country with a 10 degree Sun will be impacted by this eclipse into taking a stand regarding the "soul" of the country. I haven't checked which countries are on the path of the eclipse but something will manifest out of this.

Uranus turns direct on the 6th to begin the last leg of the journey through Pisces, if you are sensitive to Uranian energy you should feel as though restrictions are lifted and that you can make forward progress again in the areas of life you've been trying to reinvent or revolutionalise. Uranus will be re-experiencing the period of March to June of this year so anything that was going on back then may become temporarily relevent until Uranus clears the shadow in March 2011.

Cosmically speaking from October until February we have had full Moons at critical degrees which implies that culminations have been reached and if you have spiritual/self development leanings there is a good chance you've been closing quite a few doors. These particular full Moons are showing us that heights have been reached and there is no more we can expect to attain, we have to begin a new cycle. This does not always mean a clean severence and if we can allow the changes to take place then all will be well, the signs affected by these Moons are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and Leo. Esoterically speaking there are some seriously strong energies at the moment, the waves are already here. The festive season may be symbolic as the energies are forcing us to evaluate the traditions we follow and because Christmas has become so heavily commercialised we may see a lot of people demanding a return to a more family orientated affair that doesn't cost the earth. Theexcessive demands we have to live up to may finally be exposed on a grand scale and I do feel the heavens have something lined up to show us how far away we are from the inner god-force but as to the nature of that event I have no idea.

This is just an add on to what I've posted, the full Moon eclipse really does look like it has some kick arse energies, I'm not joking about someone getting calculations wrong either I think this particular date needs watching on an astral level for those of you who like to surf the collective

It's ironic what you wrote about this Christmas this year because I'd already decided to go minimal. No big gifts and keep things simple with old traditional types of activities like baking. Shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and fudge will be the gifts this year.

I should pass on my recipe for 4 minute microwave fudge that turns out perfect every time.

We don't even do Christmas as It was previously done. None of the Holidays in fact if We do any of 'em at all anymore.

    Please let Me Explain.

In the forthcoming and imminent case - We call Christmas > Solstmas now as that is what it really is...

We still give presents but in honor of the Winter Solstice and the Calendars march back to Spring and Summer..

Hadriel and I have agreed that We will no longer support Incorrect Mentalisms and or Pardigms now that We're finally prescient...

I am thinking of celebrating Festivus. The tv show Seinfeld had the plan laid out: You sit around a pole instead of a tree. There are two parts: The Airing of Grievances and Feats of Strength. It doesn't cost a thing, except for the food and drink. Sounds good to me!

I'm soo, soo bad. (hangs head in shame) I even have a starbucks barista cappuccino machine and make cafe latte everymorning instead of drinking smooth move tea. Crazy Happy

And I do nuke the butternut squash. Insanely Happy

Having had several NDE I just don't worry about that stuff anymore. Besides, the way I figure it the gamma rays will get me first - although I do look remarkable younger these days.. Oooyeah 1 must be the ab circle I swing around on. Thubs Up

I burst out laughing when I read that! I nuke the squash, too! Sometimes a girl's gotta cut a corner here and there *L*

A little off-topic, but if you have already posted about it somewhere, or if you would like to share, I'd be interested in hearing about your NDE's.

    Oh, thank you!!!!!!!!!!

The weather is icky. This should be great fun.

I have saved up the entire season of Ancient Aliens, for a marathon (avoiding commercials as much as I can).

I lost my birth certificate years ago, so I do not remember what time of morning I was born. I think it was between 8-9 a.m. of 8/31/65. Oh well. Writing that was not really helpful, was it. lol

    Anyhow, looking forward to this.
