Into Eternity (Hacia la Eternidad) Parte 1/5

This jaw-dropping documentary tackles a subject almost beyond comprehension. Every day, the world over, large amounts of high-level radioactive waste created by nuclear power plants is placed in interim storage, which is vulnerable to natural disasters, man-made disasters, and to societal changes.

In Finland the world’s first permanent repository is being dug out of solid rock a huge system of underground tunnels that must last 100,000 years as this is how long the waste remains hazardous. This is nothing less than post-human architecture we are talking about. Why isn’t every government, every philosopher, every theologian, everywhere in the world discussing Onkalo and its implications?

Thanks Mudra ,you make a very good point . "Why isn’t every government, every philosopher, every theologian, everywhere in the world discussing Onkalo and its implications? "

The solution discussed by the video is only a partial solution . What happens to the thousand of tons of contaminated water released into the Pacific Ocean ?
The radioactive contaminants are going to stay with us for thousands of years . Now is PAY TIME .
The simple truth is that the world has been fed BS for a long time by complicit governments , the media and the so called academics . All bought off by the mighty dollar . If this is not the right answer what is ? Have a look at Fukushima reactors built near the sea in a country prone to Earthquakes and tsunamies .
Generations of people have been fed BS by the education system that never explained to the students exactly the process and the length ( many decades ) of the cooling down of the depleted uranium rods . Academics that relied on government approval for tenure at the universities were always supportive of a system that is simply too expensive and too dangerous . Then there was the campaign of the " global warming " designed to make the population feel guilty for breathing . According to this psychological operation , mankind industrial activity is responsible for the changing climate even though it has been confirmed that the problem is also evident in the other planets of our solar system and it is tied up to the Sun cyclic activity .
The governments have deceived the population for money and the population , as a whole , is too gullible and too eager to go along with the criminals in government .
Now with the accumulation of radioactivity , the future generation of humans are under threat . Thinking people should reconsider the system of government , the education system , the economic system and the human values of our society .

Thanks for your visit enemyofNWO .
To me it's clear that the people who designed and approved the nuclear energy did'nt contemplate a society that was meant to last .
On the contrary it's been more " where can take what , how fast and with maximum profit ".
Underground tunnels that will need to hold 100.000 of years to bury radioactive waist . Because of this alone how can anyone still
be pro nuclear on this planet ?

    :(

Nuclear Waste and "Spent Nuclear Fuel" : The Largest Concentration of Radioactivity on the Planet is in the USA
    by Rady Ananda

    Global Research, March 27, 2011

US stores spent nuclear fuel rods at 4 times pool capacity

In a recent interview with The Real News Network, Robert Alvarez, a nuclear policy specialist since 1975, reports that spent nuclear fuel in the United States comprises the largest concentration of radioactivity on the planet: 71,000 metric tons. Worse, since the Yucca Mountain waste repository has been scrapped due to its proximity to active faults (see last image), the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission has allowed reactor operators to store four times more waste in the spent fuel pools than they’re designed to handle.

Each Fukushima spent fuel pool holds about 100 metric tons, he says, while each US pool holds from 500-700 metric tons. A single pool fire would release catastrophic amounts of radioactivity, rendering 17-22,000 square miles of area uninhabitable. That’s about the size of New Hampshire and Vermont – from one pool fire.

Radiation Coverups And Dangers Exposed Worldwide
    The Intel Hub
    By Alex Thomas
    July 12, 2011

The nuclear industry and nuclear regulators worldwide, as well as specifically in the United States, have continually covered up disasters and radiation releases as if they never happened or posed no danger to the public.
To begin to understand the corruption of the nuclear power industry and the danger we are in because of it, you must first realize that they actually fund their regulators, The NRC in the United States and the IAEA for the world.
The Christian Science Monitor reported in mid March that lax oversight, specifically at the IAEA may have caused the Japan nuclear crisis.

Los Alamos Study Group's Willem Malten Reports on Current Nuclear Issues

Note - Video provides a lot more info than the article below.

'Monsoon rain could flood Los Alamos with contaminants' - Jul 14, 2011

Willem Malten from the Los Alamos Study Group says that although the town of Los Alamos which is still one of the United States' most active nuclear weapons facilities has escaped the threat of a fierce wildfire, a new natural phenomenon is now threatening the local communities.

Now monsoon rains threaten to flood whole communities with contaminants such as plutonium, uranium and mercury, he said in an interview with Press TV's U.S. Desk on Wednesday.

He said "there is a frantic community effort under way with mainly Native Americans sandbagging their own homelands while the [The Los Alamos National] Laboratory just removed 12,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil from the canyons."

Why are there no protests in the US? I think I may have a partial answer. There are two groups: 1. The uneducated who do not understand and do not care to learn. I know several people who did not understand what a fuel rod was prior to Fuku. They did not know there was any serious nuclear waste being made. These people were not taught about nuclear power realities in public school, which is a highly controlled environment. Now with the access to the internet, the young people have some chance to educate themselves. Some are, but not many. Most are too exhausted trying to work to buy fuel, food, and housing. Second group: 2. Those who know about the situation to some extent. The somewhat educated who understand the effects, long term, of the radiaoactive material. Those of us who have heard of Chernobyl. (It is not taught in public school.) Those of us who know have divided into two sub groups, the first being the largest. We have given up in depressed defeat and don't try to talk about it any more. The second subgroup still thinks there is something we can do about it, and these are the young people with education and hope. They are having children and they are the most vocal on the internet. If any group becomes politically active, it would be this subgroup. The 20 and 30 somethings who want to fight the companies like TEPCO which is General Electric. Good luck to them. I'm in the generation who tried and failed miserably. We were considered kooks and weirdos because we talked about bad stuff. Now the chickens come home to roost. Bleh.

There you have it in my opinion

I really do think like you do, Mu! I'm instigating debate everywhere I can. I want to see the proof right now, this year. There's an expression, it will take an act of congress. So, if the new era involves the dismantling of the industry, is it the congress who will do it, do you think? Should we dare imagine/intend that the nuclear industries themselves will shutdown willingly? However can we get the industry titans to move into the new energy? Hmm, and still make enough profit to suit them? They will want to profit, because they will pay for cleanup. In my opinion. Whom do we trust with the cleanup, after all?

Whistleblowers "terrified" at TVA nuke plants?

(CBS News) In the wake of the Fukushima disaster in Japan, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has released a task force report on the safety of America's 104 nuclear reactors.
And on "The Early Show" Wednesday, CBS News Chief Investigative Correspondent Armen Keteyian offered Part Two of his investigation into one troubled nuclear power plant, in Spring City, Tenn.

On Tuesday, he reported on whistleblower Ann Harris, a 71-year-old great-grandmother who's made it her life's calling to hold those operating the plant accountable when it comes to safety

Nuclear Power 101: Fairewinds Examines the Fundamental Advantages and Disadvantages of Splitting Atoms to Boil Water.

Included in this presentation and PowerPoint is a discussion of how nuclear power plants work, how to cool a reactor during an accident, the effect of hot particles when inhaled, and concerns involving the long-term storage of nuclear waste. This presentation took place at the Nuclear Power Conference held at the University of Vermont July 23, 2011.
