Just wondering if I was the only one getting adverts? Or is it because of some technical reason from the hosting site??

Nah, it's not just you. I'm getting them as well and was just as surprised.

Well let's remember this is a free forum but that nevertheless someone is funding it with own money as well as putting time to keep it running , Mercuriel that is .
Maybe he is in need of some cash to keep things going and decided to opt for these ads .
I see nothing wrong with this if this is the case and can cope with it .
On the other end if funds are needed I think we should all participate in it as we can . A donate button then would be welcome.
Mercuriel just let us know what is needed brother .

No - All is fine except that I had Ads, Storage and some other things set up here until July 13th, 2011. That said - They ran Their course today and needed to be renewed which I've now done.

No worries about Funding. All is well. It just slipped My Mind is all.
