I don't build anything, but I do create something: choreography, which I perform barefoot in my living room!

Here is my YouTube channel: "TheJoyofDance"

What a delightful treat. You really look like you're enjoying yourself. How long have you been doing dance?

When I was a child, I took lessons and performed (and my mom was the piano player for the dance school) for about three years.

Then, when I retired at the age of 63, I started dancing at home for exercise. And the thought occurred to me to take lessons again, so I visited some dance schools. But I figured out that what I really wanted to do was "do my own thing." Wow! A digital camera and a tripod is the coolest thing. I can record and delete record and delete record and delete til I'm done!

Yeah, it's lots of fun. Very Happy

    Thanks for watching.

BTW, remember that "My To Do List for the U.S." that you liked and I deleted some time back? It's back on my blog, which I use my YouTube channel to link to: http://howcanwechange.wordpress.com/2010/10/17/my-to-do-list-for-the-u-s/

I kill 2 birds with 1 stone - so to speak - with my channel: have fun, and link to my blog. Double Thumbs Up

I'm really impressed with what you created for yourself. It really is both beautiful and inspirational.

After I get unburied from all the work I have at home for being gone months on end, I plan to get back into writing my book and creating an aquaponics garden for the deck. I haven't even brought myself to unpacking my suitcase with all the work needed done to close out my mom's affairs. I've been getting massage therapy just to deal with the stress and the last session she did a yoga stretch workout which was wonderful. My body finally opened up from the movement.

Dance is magical and I would love to be able to move like you do. With all those years of background you make it look so easy yet it also must take a lot of patience and control.

I really appreciate your sharing your youtube videos as I find it very inspiring.

That sounds wonderful. I think writing is one of the most creative things one can do, and nothing can be more meaningful than gardening.

Actually, it doesn't take patience and control, for me. What I do is focus on the music. I have to love the music first or I can't dance to it. Then, I focus on losing myself in the music. I'm doing what comes naturally.

For you, whatever moves you from the inside out, is what will work for you, in my opinion.

Thanks for expressing your appreciation! cheers

I look forward to hearing about your book and your aquaponics garden, and whatever else comes about! Very Happy

Dance is a form of meditation once you lose yourself in the music. Carol, just remember, if you dance to one tune a day, it's enough of a start! It's so much more fun than a treadmill!

Yeah, I would agree with that.

When I was using dance for exercise, I used music that I had selected for myself and put on my iPod, which I strapped to my waist so I could dance to the music using headphones. There was something more up close and personal about the headphones. It was like dancing to an intravenous feeding of music!

Headphones do make a huge difference. Even when I sing or practice, headphones makes it so much easier to hear the little nuances of the music and voice. Sara Brightman is who I enjoy the most practicing with. I recently did Ave Maria and Pia Jesu - headphones would have been a big help getting ready where one can stand up and walk around.
