    visitor messages

Post  mudra on Mon Apr 26, 2010 11:00 am

Mercuriel I noticed that on our personal pages it's the link " profile " that 's on when we go there.
Would it be possible to switch it to " visitor messages " .
I believe some friends here don't even notice they receive messages on their pages due to this .
Would be lovely to have our profile pages opening as it was in PA.

    Love from me

Yes, bump, bump. I only just found one you sent me back in April 2011 Mudra! cheers Thank you. It was a lovely surprise to find. Hugs But I don't know how to send one to someone either. I looked in the FAQ and there's nothing there about them. scratch

Interesting you can read other people's too. Few surprises there also lol. Shocked

    Please see New Link at the Top of Everyone's Page once You're Logged in thats labeled as ;

    "Your Visitor Messages"

This Link should now allow All Members to see Their own respective Visitor Messages much more easily...

Please report back in this Thread if there are any Issues experienced with this New Feature that We may as yet be unawares of...

    Wink

Hi Mercuriel, Whenever I click on the Your Visitor Messages link I go to your messages and not my own. How do I find mine? TIA

Carol - Please give Me the Link to the Page that You get when You go to Your own Visitor Messages and not the Link at the top of the Page that I've made up...

Mudra ? Do You see My Visitor Messages or Your own ?

    Huh ?

OK - I think I see why It's happening. I may have to disable it if I can't get it to work obviously...

    Please standby...

Right now when I click on " Your visitor messages " I am routed to the welcome page Mercuriel.
A few seconds ago when I clicked on " Your visitor messages " I landed on your own profile.

I guess you had to disable 'Visitor Messages' Mercurial? I see no tab for them anywhere now. silent

Yeah - They're using Javascript to access the Visitor Messages per User so as I Navigate around My Own Pages once I'm Logged in - All I get for Code is Code relative to My own User Profile and no one else's...

    Huh ?

No worries - I haven't given up on It - I've just removed It for the time being so I can regroup and figure out how to do It for Y'all...

If you can use PHP to format the link with the user id, that would be the best solution. Otherwise if you only have access to javascript, try something like this:
    Code:

So then I would what ? Create this as a Javascript File and have It active on all Pages ?

Also - Is there a CSS necessary to go along with this ?

    Huh ?

Could You test this with Me by putting a Visitor Message on My Visitor Message Page ? The JS File has been created already...

Something like "Test" would be fine...

    Question
