    Do you feed birds?

Post  Floyd on Mon Dec 05, 2011 11:26 am

I like feeding birds and recently decided to have an erection . That is to say a bird table erected on the balcony.

They love it and there is something highly enjoyable about watching birds land on your table and munch away.

As we come from different parts of the planet I was wondering what kind of birds you get in your garden and when.

I have a gang of blue Xxxx who love peanuts followed by sunflower seeds. There are great Xxxx also. The chaffinches are a very shy and tend to feed on the bits that drop to the ground from the Xxxx, they very rarely land on the table. Robins do and the fat greedy wood pigeons will eat about 20 peanuts in one minute.

I was thinking about installing a lavatory for them.

ps. One thing they do need just as much as food in the winter months is water as it freezes over elsewhere

I would love to hear your bird stories.

Photos are hard to take as they are so quick and I don't have a decent camera with me just no.

    They are beautiful creatures.

lol blue t-its is not allowed!

This one is saying (in a clint Eastwood voice) "Where are my nuts Xxxxxxx? You think im just gonna sit on this branch all day freezing my nuts off? Go ahead punk..Feed me nuts"

I have flowers growing in my balcony. I use them to refresh flowers for Krsna. Hummingbirds are often enjoyers of the nectar. They are like little motors, suddenly appearing and i would not say they fly, they 'drive'. lol if they are on the spot, you can observe their colors, long beak. They are cute and tiny. However it is imposible to see their wings. They move their wings too fast.
Sometimes hundred of crows appears in our huge tree. They never bring peaceful feelings. I can not forget the biography of Van Gogh where he lived in a ranch surrounded by big trees daily full of thousands of crows. I really think his surroundings were disturbed.

    I am profoundly jealous.

Flickers...never heard of that one before-is it a cross between a dolphin and a chocolate bar (flippers/snickers)?

Sounds great. The closest thing we kind to that around here is a couple of astonishing kites that circle the afternoon sky each day. Awesome.

That is one crazy bird. half ufo half bird

There is an old way of divination called augury whereby the synchronous appearance of a certain type of bird depicts an event or tells of some circumstance.

For example. if TRANCOSO where to look out the window and see a robin..it means that he needs to buy me a pint of west country cider.

Thanks for the bird stuff Devakas. Thats one clever bird.

The chances I'll see a robin when I look out the window, is about as big as SaLuSa ringing your doorbell on 12-12-2012 at exactly 12:12...

    Although...you never know...

In that case, Floyd, it means you need to buy me a bottle of 18(+) year old Scotch.

I live almost in the centre of Amsterdam, Floyd...

The last time I saw a bird sitting on the railing of my balcony is at least 5 months ago...

The only birds I spot every now and then are pigeons, and I don't consider them birds... They're flying rats!

At Precisely the 12 th second of the 12th day of the 12th year a little robin will appear on your balcony, peer gently and appealingly into your eyes and send you this telepathic message. "hey Xxxxxxx where are the nuts and the seeds. Do you think its any coincidence we havent been landing on your balcony. Goddam hippy."

Flying rats have feelings too man.
The Great Overlord is indeed harsh on the airborne rodents.

That little robin most defenitly has a severe deathwish, talking like a Upper-OverLord of the GFL like that.

Floyd, have you ever tried fried robin? Or robin pie perhaps? What to they taste like, robins?

Please let me know before the 12th second of the 12th day of the 12th year.
