Why the fascists and Heinrich Himmler had such a great interest in studying the origins of the nordic "race", the Atlantis mythology and such? To claim them and their descendants as "superhumans"?
No... the aim was to localize and exterminate them - like Jews --- or, as Jews.
The fascists, based on the controverse studies of Hermann Wirth, got out that the "root race" they so long searched for "worshipped" no phallocratic solar deity, but some Goddess.
Wirth was the leader of the Ahnenerbe until 1937, when Himmler forced him out and replaced him by Walter Wüst, a vehement proponent of the fascist ideology.
Fascism, in its core, goes back to the Roman variance of monotheism, built upon a merging of the Jahweh- and the Sol-Invictus-Cult. The Romans, in fact still Etruscans then, applied a politics of subversion in the Near East since ca. 700 BC., with the aim to get rid of the Ashera people who had a strong influence in that region. These people, those who refused to follow the LORD, in fact were the aim of all extermination attempts, up to the concentration camps of the Third Reich - and beyond.
This bad "mytheme" (or: meme) that the Romans implanted is not only a characteristicum of fascism.
